Oval Internal-Track Shower Curtain Rod – Flexible Configuration Options
This oval shower curtain rod combines a clean, high-quality appearance with a technically refined internal-track design. The 20 mm aluminum profile is bent into an oval shape in one piece and closed at only one point with a profile connector. This allows the shower curtain to move smoothly and continuously around the entire rod, regardless of whether the system is mounted entirely from the ceiling or with a combination of wall and ceiling supports.
The shower curtain rod is especially suitable for freestanding tubs, but it can also be used with bathtubs positioned along a wall. Several fixed sizes, profile finishes, ceiling support materials and colors, and different support lengths are available. Additional ceiling supports, swivel joints for sloped ceilings, extra gliders with stainless steel hooks, a cover for the upper mounting track, and practical robe hooks can also be added to the configuration.
The gliders are made from high-quality plastic that is resistant to water, temperature changes, and light, and they are supplied in a color matched to the selected profile. Specially shaped stainless steel hooks provide a stable and durable connection for the shower curtain. This makes the oval internal-track shower curtain rod highly adaptable to different installation situations, ceiling heights, and design requirements.

Size of the Oval Shower Curtain Rod
The size of the oval shower curtain rod is defined by the two outside dimensions A × B. Dimension A indicates the overall length, while dimension B indicates the overall depth of the finished bent rod. Available standard sizes are 120 × 80 cm, 130 × 80 cm, 140 × 80 cm, 150 × 80 cm, 160 × 80 cm, 170 × 80 cm, and 180 × 80 cm.
The appropriate number of gliders with stainless steel hooks is automatically included according to the selected size: 24 pieces with the 120 × 80 cm and 130 × 80 cm versions, and 32 pieces with sizes from 140 × 80 cm through 180 × 80 cm. The plastic gliders are supplied in a color that matches the selected profile finish.
The shower curtain rod does not have to match the exact outside dimensions of the bathtub. In particular, dimension B may be selected slightly wider than the tub. This provides more room while showering and helps keep the curtain away from the body. Because a shower curtain is made from flexible fabric, it can hang slightly inward and still fall inside the bathtub. This maintains effective splash protection while providing greater comfort.
Please note that the rod is manufactured from an aluminum profile bent into its oval shape in one piece. Due to the bending process, the finished outside dimensions A and B are subject to a manufacturing tolerance of approximately ±10 mm. The listed dimensions should therefore be considered nominal dimensions of the finished bent shower curtain rod.
Mounting Configuration – Ceiling Mount or Combined Wall and Ceiling Mount
Two mounting configurations are available for the oval internal-track shower curtain rod. For a freestanding tub, the rod is typically suspended entirely from the ceiling. This version is supplied as standard with 4 ceiling supports. The supports are positioned around the oval structure to provide secure and stable suspension. If the installation conditions or desired level of stability require additional support, extra ceiling supports can be added in the product configurator.
If the bathtub is positioned with one long side directly against or close to a wall, the alternative configuration with 2 wall supports and 2 ceiling supports can be selected. In this arrangement, one long side of the oval shower curtain rod is supported at two points from the wall, while the opposite side is suspended from the ceiling with two ceiling supports. The internal glider track remains unobstructed with either mounting method, allowing the shower curtain to move smoothly and continuously around the entire oval rod.
The standard ceiling supports are 45 cm long and can be shortened as required. The minimum possible distance between the ceiling and the shower curtain rod is approximately 5 cm. For greater suspension heights, 60, 80, or 100 cm ceiling supports are also available. These longer supports can also be individually shortened.
The wall supports provide a standard wall clearance of approximately 120 mm and can be shortened to approximately 65 mm. Wall supports are currently available only in V2A stainless steel. Shortening requirements can be entered in the “Shorten ceiling supports by” field or in the order comments. Please provide clear instructions, for example: “Supply all ceiling supports at 38 cm length,” “Shorten all ceiling supports by 10 cm to 35 cm,” or “Shorten wall supports to 8 cm wall clearance.”
Material and Finish of the Oval Shower Curtain Rod
The oval shower curtain rod is made from a high-quality 20 mm aluminum internal-track profile and bent into the oval shape in one piece. Four profile finishes are available: stainless steel look aluminum, gloss white aluminum, matte black aluminum, and gloss black aluminum. This makes it easy to match the shower curtain rod to bathroom fixtures, furniture, and other metal finishes.
The mounting hardware can be selected in matching or intentionally contrasting finishes. Ceiling supports are available in V2A stainless steel, gloss white aluminum, or matte black aluminum. For configurations using wall supports, please note that the wall supports are currently available only in V2A stainless steel. Combinations such as stainless steel / white, stainless steel / black, or black / white are therefore also possible.
Profile connector – closed oval design with accessible internal tracks.
The oval shower curtain rod is made from one continuously bent profile and is closed as standard at the center of one side A.
At this point, the two profile ends are joined with a sturdy track connector and secured with M4 set screws. The connector is positioned
in the upper mounting track while leaving the lower glider track unobstructed, allowing the gliders with stainless steel hooks to move
smoothly across the connection point.
The connection can be opened again whenever access to the internal tracks is required. Simply loosen the set screws on one side of the connector and slide the profile ends slightly apart. This makes it possible to add extra gliders with stainless steel hooks to the glider track or remove existing gliders. Additional flat nuts for extra ceiling supports can also be inserted into the upper mounting track. Afterward, slide the profile ends back together and secure the track connector by tightening the set screws.
Ceiling Support Material and Finish
The ceiling supports for the oval internal-track shower curtain rod can be selected to match the desired appearance. Available options are V2A stainless steel, gloss white aluminum, and matte black aluminum. The shower curtain rod and ceiling supports can be selected in matching finishes or intentionally combined for a contrasting appearance.
V2A stainless steel ceiling supports.
The V2A stainless steel version is particularly durable and visually complements the 20 mm aluminum internal-track profile in a stainless
steel look. Stainless steel ceiling supports can also be combined with white or black profiles.
The oval shower curtain rod is bent in one piece and supplied with the profile ends connected. To insert the gliders with stainless steel hooks into the lower glider track and the flat nuts for the ceiling supports into the upper mounting track, the connection is opened at one point. The gliders and flat nuts are then inserted, the profile ends are reconnected, and the set screws on the track connector are tightened. The upper mounting track and lower glider track are separate, keeping the entire curtain path unobstructed and allowing the shower curtain to move smoothly around the complete oval rod.
The ceiling supports can be positioned freely along the upper mounting track. First, the flat nuts are distributed at the required mounting points inside the profile, and the ceiling support rods are screwed into them. The ceiling bases are then mounted according to these positions. Stainless steel ceiling supports can be attached using the mounting plate or directly with a suitable screw. The complete oval assembly is then raised, the support rods are inserted into the ceiling bases, and secured with the set screws. An adjustment range of approximately 15 mm allows each support to be fine-tuned in height so the shower curtain rod can be aligned level.
Gloss white aluminum ceiling supports.
For an oval shower curtain rod with a gloss white powder-coated aluminum profile, matching white ceiling supports are available.
Contrasting combinations, such as white with a stainless steel look, are also possible.
The white ceiling supports are also positioned freely in the upper mounting track using flat nuts. The ceiling base can be installed with the supplied M6 × 60 hanger bolt or directly from inside using a suitable screw. After the support rod is inserted into the ceiling base, it is secured with the set screw. The height can be fine-adjusted by approximately 15 mm.
Matte black aluminum ceiling supports.
For black shower curtain rods, we offer matte black aluminum ceiling supports. The understated dark finish creates a particularly uniform
appearance when combined with a matte black internal-track profile. Black ceiling supports can also be combined with other profile
finishes.
Installation, positioning, and height adjustment follow the same principle as with the white version. The ceiling supports are positioned independently in the upper mounting track, while the lower track remains completely unobstructed for smooth movement of the shower curtain.
Longer Ceiling Supports and Selecting the Correct Support Length
The standard ceiling supports have a length of 45 cm. This dimension represents the distance from the ceiling to the top edge of the internal-track profile. If a greater ceiling clearance is required, 60 cm, 80 cm, or 100 cm ceiling supports can be selected in the product configurator. These longer supports can also be shortened to the required length.
As a general guide, the required length can be calculated using the following formula: ceiling support length = room height − curtain height − curtain clearance above the floor − approximately 5 cm for the rod and stainless steel hook. The minimum possible distance from the ceiling to the top edge of the shower curtain rod is approximately 5 cm.
The ceiling support rods can be shortened with a metal saw if required. Alternatively, you can specify the required finished length when ordering. Please provide clear instructions, for example: “Supply all ceiling supports at 38 cm length” or “Shorten all ceiling supports by 10 cm to 35 cm.” An additional height adjustment range of approximately 15 mm at the ceiling base allows precise final leveling of the oval shower curtain rod.
Additional Ceiling Supports for Increased Stability
Depending on the selected mounting configuration, the oval shower curtain rod is supplied as standard with either 4 ceiling supports or 2 ceiling supports and 2 wall supports. For installations where additional support is desired or structurally beneficial, 1, 2, or 3 additional ceiling supports can be selected in the product configurator.
Because the upper mounting track extends around the shower curtain rod, additional ceiling supports can be positioned at suitable locations as required. This can be useful with greater suspension lengths, special installation conditions, or whenever an especially rigid and stable installation is desired. Additional supports are installed using flat nuts in the separate upper mounting track. The lower glider track remains unaffected, allowing the shower curtain to continue moving smoothly around the entire oval rod.
Swivel Joints for Ceiling Supports – Installation on Sloped Ceilings
If one or more mounting points are located on a sloped ceiling, the corresponding ceiling supports can be equipped with optional swivel joints. Depending on the installation, 1, 2, 3, or 4 joints can be selected in the product configurator. This allows joints to be added only to the ceiling supports that actually require installation on a sloped surface.
The joint is installed between the ceiling base and the ceiling support rod and allows continuous adjustment to different ceiling angles. A threaded stud and drive-in nut for the connection are included. This allows the ceiling support rod to remain vertical to the shower curtain rod even when its ceiling base is mounted on an angled surface.
Ceiling supports with and without swivel joints can be combined on the same oval shower curtain rod. This is particularly useful when only some of the mounting points are located within a sloped ceiling area. The swivel joints are available only in stainless steel, but they are technically compatible with white and black ceiling supports as well.
Additional Gliders with Stainless Steel Hooks
Depending on the selected size of the oval shower curtain rod, an appropriate number of gliders with stainless steel hooks is already included. The exact quantity is shown with each size option. If additional hooks are required, you can add 2 to 20 extra pieces in the product configurator.
The gliders are made from high-quality plastic that is resistant to water, temperature changes, and light. They are supplied in a color matched to the selected internal-track profile: white, black, or light gray. Each glider is fitted with a specially shaped stainless steel hook, creating a compact, highly stable, and durable suspension point for the shower curtain.
The gliders move inside the lower internal track and can travel smoothly around the entire oval shower curtain rod. The ceiling support mounting points are located in the separate upper mounting track, so they do not interrupt or obstruct curtain movement.
Any unused gliders can simply remain on the shower curtain rod. Thanks to the strong stainless steel hooks, they can also be used as convenient small towel hooks, robe hooks, or washcloth hooks. They take up very little space and can be repositioned anywhere along the rod as needed.
Cover for the Upper Mounting Track
An optional flexible rubber cover for protection against dust, dirt, and moisture is available for the upper mounting track of the oval shower curtain rod. The cover is supplied in a color matched to the selected profile finish: white, black, or light gray.
The flexible cover strip is supplied in one piece according to the selected shower curtain rod size. After installation of the rod, it can easily be cut into individual sections with regular scissors and pressed into the upper mounting track between the ceiling supports or wall supports.
This helps keep the mounting track largely closed and reduces the accumulation of water, dust, and dirt. The lower glider track remains completely open, allowing the shower curtain to continue moving smoothly around the entire oval shower curtain rod.
“Fesch” Robe and Towel Hooks in V2A Stainless Steel
As a practical accessory, the oval shower curtain rod can be equipped with our compact “fesch” robe and towel hooks made from V2A stainless steel. Depending on your needs, 1, 2, 3, or 4 hooks can be added in the product configurator.
The hooks are mounted directly in the upper mounting track of the internal-track shower curtain rod. A flat nut is moved to the desired position and the hook is screwed into place. This allows the hooks to be positioned almost anywhere along the rod without interfering with the lower glider track.
Each hook is designed as a slim vertical stainless steel pin measuring approximately 35 mm in length and approximately 10 mm in diameter. Despite its compact dimensions, the design is very strong and is well suited for robes, bath towels, hand towels, or washcloths. This allows the shower curtain rod to serve as a practical towel rail at the same time.
The hooks are available only in V2A stainless steel. However, they can also be technically and visually combined with white or black aluminum profiles. Because the hooks are mounted entirely in the separate upper track, the shower curtain can still move smoothly and continuously around the complete rod even when towels or robes are hanging from it.
